(Singapore, 24, Sep 2025)The global K-drama craze is entering a new era of short-form, AI-enhanced storytelling. Soonshot, an international short-form K-drama platform, has officially partnered with BytePlus, ByteDance’s enterprise technology arm, to deliver “snackable” Korean dramas in 1–2 minute episodes optimized for mobile audiences. In just under three months, Soonshot has already drawn 110,000 users worldwide, with average sessions lasting 22 minutes.

Korea’s Creative Powerhouse Meets BytePlus AI

The platform is spearheaded by South Korean comedy icon Lee Kyung-kyu, co-founder of ADG Company, who brings more than 45 years of broadcasting experience and access to Korea’s rich creative ecosystem. Through collaborations with over 3,000 production professionals, major broadcasters including SBS, KT, and Kakao, and more than 20,000 webtoon IPs, Soonshot is building a pipeline of authentic, star-driven content.

Powered by BytePlus technology, Soonshot personalizes recommendations in real time, delivers seamless buffer-free streaming through a global CDN, and provides analytics to creators—helping refine stories scene by scene based on viewer engagement.

“Soonshot brings the emotional depth of K-dramas at short-form speed,” said Erica Park, CEO of ADG Company. “Inspired by China’s short-video boom, we are elevating the format with authentic K-drama storytelling and BytePlus’s AI capabilities to build a sustainable, direct-to-fan model for IP growth.”

Singapore as the Global Launchpad

Choosing Singapore as its launchpad, Soonshot is targeting rapid expansion across Southeast Asia and beyond, including Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, and the US. Singapore’s advanced digital infrastructure, payment systems, and influential media market make it an ideal testing ground for premium K-content.

Localized features such as multilingual subtitles further widen accessibility. The platform taps into Southeast Asia’s K-drama obsession: Indonesians average six hours of daily mobile use with K-content accounting for 30% of streams; one in three young Thais watches K-dramas daily; Filipinos generate more than 100 million K-drama hashtag views monthly; and Singapore ranks highest in per-capita spending.

Beyond streaming, Soonshot is designed as a K-culture lifestyle platform, where fans not only watch but also engage in communities and discussions. The company is building immersive fandom ecosystems and introducing membership models that give audiences deeper access to stories, creators, and culture.

“We prioritize long-term growth through fandom and IP creation over quick profits,” Park added.
