(Singapore, 05.12.2025) Singapore-based ANDACO Education Technology Pte. Ltd (AET) and China’s leading short-drama platform Hongguo Theatre (under Fantasy Springs Films) have successfully completed filming for their co-produced fantasy comedy short drama, Who Made Him an Underworld Officer?, at Hengdian World Studios in China. The project marks a milestone in deepening creative collaboration between Singapore and China and signals new opportunities for regional talent development.

Starring Singaporean actor Steven Lim, the series brings together creative teams from both countries. Walter Lan, CEO of AET, serves as Executive Producer and played an active role throughout the creative process.
“As Singapore continues building a strong foundation for nurturing creative talent, international co-production offers a powerful pathway for young professionals to gain real industry exposure, hands-on experience and global perspectives,” said Walter Lan.
The partnership leverages China’s mature production infrastructure and Singapore’s global outlook, showcasing how cross-border collaborations can accelerate content innovation, diversify storytelling formats, and strengthen the region’s digital content ecosystem.
For AET, the project reinforces its long-term commitment to advancing people-to-people exchanges between Singapore and China through education-driven cultural initiatives. The company noted that such collaborations are increasingly important as Asia’s creative industries expand beyond borders and demand new models that integrate training, production and market access.
Who Made Him an Underworld Officer? is set for an exclusive release in January 2026, targeting fast-growing short-drama audiences across Asia. With its humorous storytelling, distinctive visual style and cross-cultural production approach, the series aims to demonstrate the global potential of short-form serialized content.
