(Singapore, 15.08.2025) Some of Singapore’s buses, MRT stations, and taxis now showcase the fetching beauty of Indonesia’s landscapes and culture, immersing their commuters and passers-by in the sights and charms of the Land of Thousands of Islands—also known as the Emerald of the Equator—through striking videos and images.
While these set-ups, organized by the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore, aim to promote Indonesia as a rewarding and fabulous tourism destination, they also represent celebration of the independence anniversaries of the two countries, both in August and 20 years apart—Indonesia marking its 80th and Singapore its 60th.
The out-of-home tourism campaign also serves as an old-friend gesture – it commemorates 58 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Singapore.

The Indonesian Embassy has worked together with Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Creative Economy, Garuda Indonesia, and Singapore’s Changi Airport Group to launch this campaign.
The Embassy said in its press statement that the campaign seeks to strengthen people-to-people ties by inviting Singaporeans and residents to explore Indonesia’s tourism offerings through the immersive imagery. They are also encouraged to discover Indonesia’s creative economy through its local IP (intellectual property) characters.
Featured in the videos are three of Indonesia’s beloved IPs: Si Juki, Jumbo, and Milk & Mocha. They have achieved significant cultural and commercial success both in Indonesia and internationally.
Named “Travel the Lands, Discover the Brands: Indonesia Awaits” and running from August to October 2025, the campaign spotlights three of Indonesia’s most iconic destinations: West Sumatra (Padang), Bali, and Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara).
The campaign is featured on 13 rotating buses along key routes, 2 MRT stations (Chinatown and Bencoolen), and 50 taxis. Videos on Indonesian tourism will also be displayed in 500 taxis.
Indonesian Ambassador Suryo Pratomo emphasized the significance of this campaign in the context of the deepening bilateral relationship between the two countries: “This campaign is more than just a celebration of Indonesia’s natural beauty and creative ingenuities; it is a reflection of the strong and evolving friendship between Indonesia and Singapore.”
“As we commemorate these landmark anniversaries, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening people-to-people connections through tourism, culture, and innovation,” he added.
