(Singapore, 06.08.2025)In a landmark move to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy in urban environments, LHN Energy Resources has officially launched a solar carport at Goldhill Plaza. This innovative project, developed in collaboration with LHN Parking, steps in transforming underutilised urban spaces into productive sources of clean energy.

With land scarcity posing a constant challenge in Singapore, the Goldhill Plaza solar carport present a solution: convert open-air carparks into dual-purpose infrastructure that provides shaded parking while generating solar power. The photovoltaic system atop the carport is designed to supply clean electricity directly to the premises, reducing dependence on the national grid and lowering operational energy costs.

Singapore’s geographical location near the equator, and the island receives an average of 4 to 6 kWh/m²/day of solar irradiance and enjoys approximately 2,000 hours of sunshine annually. This consistent sunlight makes solar power one of the most reliable and effective renewable energy sources available locally.

By tapping into this abundant resource, the Goldhill Plaza solar carport maximises both environmental and economic returns—transforming everyday urban infrastructure into a clean energy asset.

Beyond its immediate benefits to Goldhill Plaza, LHN Energy plans to replicate the model across various open-air carparks in Singapore, reinforcing its commitment to scalable and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

“With rising energy costs and increasing demand for environmentally responsible development, solar carports offer a pragmatic and impactful solution,” the spokesperson added. “We see tremendous potential in expanding this model citywide.”

The expansion initiative underscores LHN Energy’s role as a key enabler of Singapore’s low-carbon ambitions. By leveraging its partnership with LHN Parking, the company aims to integrate solar carports into its growing portfolio of smart energy projects, supporting both climate goals and the operational needs of commercial property owners.
