(Singapore, 13.06.2025)Medini, the heart of Iskandar Malaysia’s innovation corridor, is set to host the inaugural Nikkei Forum Medini Johor 2025 from 18 to 19 June, co-organised by Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) and Japan’s leading business media group, Nikkei. The high-profile event underscores Johor’s growing role as a regional epicentre for sustainable innovation, digital transformation, and cross-border economic integration.

Held under the theme “Driving Asia’s Innovation Hub,” the forum brings together over 500 business leaders, policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs from across Asia and beyond. It marks a milestone for Johor, which is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for global investment and regional cooperation — particularly in the context of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which is expected to deepen cross-border trade and innovation flows.
The two-day event will feature more than 20 prominent speakers and 10 high-impact panel discussions covering topics ranging from emerging technologies and AI to green infrastructure, digital trade, and investment strategies for the ASEAN region. Delegates will also participate in an investment immersion tour of Medini and curated networking opportunities aimed at forging cross-border collaboration.
The forum will be graced by key dignitaries including Malaysia’s Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Johor’s Chief Minister YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, and Japan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Shikata Noriyuki. The event will take place at the Medini International Convention City (MICC), further reinforcing the region’s readiness to host international business summits and strategic dialogues.

“Medini is more than just a location — it is the beating heart of Iskandar Puteri’s dynamic ecosystem,” said Dato’ Idzham Mohd Hashim, President and CEO of Iskandar Investment Berhad. “This forum reflects the strength of our broader vision — an integrated community of industry, education, innovation, and lifestyle.”
Hosting the Nikkei Forum is also a strategic signal of Johor’s ambitions. With its proximity to Singapore, pro-growth agenda, and increasing international attention, Johor is poised to become a Southeast Asian gateway for global innovation, green investment, and digital entrepreneurship.
“As the Southern Jewel of Malaysia, Johor offers a unique platform for global dialogue and collaboration,” said YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor. “With the momentum of the JS-SEZ and our strong international partnerships, we are paving the way for inclusive, future-ready growth.”
