(Singapore, 11.02.2026) Royal Caribbean International is expanding its Artist Discovery Program aboard its newest Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas, further strengthening its commitment to cultural immersion and creative collaboration.

Designed to provide emerging local artists with a global platform, the program will now extend beyond the Caribbean to include talents from Central America. Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work to millions of guests who will sail on Legend for years to come.
“Our Artist Discovery Program is a testament to how Royal Caribbean creates culturally immersive experiences for guests, connecting vacationers of all ages with the destinations we visit around the world,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean. “We’re excited to expand the program to include emerging artists from Central America alongside the Caribbean and increase the number of locations for large-scale murals on Legend from four to six, creating more opportunities for artists to highlight the diverse destinations we visit through their work.”
Selected artists will be commissioned to paint large-scale murals across six prominent locations on board Legend, including:
- The Royal Promenade neighborhood
- Legend’s embarkation area
- The Suite Sundeck Lobby
- The Suite Sundeck
The installations aim to create visually immersive environments that reflect the creative spirit and cultural vibrancy of the Caribbean and Central America. The initiative continues Royal Caribbean’s efforts to redefine how art “lives, moves and inspires” at sea.
Submission Requirements
Artists interested in joining the Artist Discovery Program must submit:
- Five samples of original conceptual work (not currently published or on display)
- A brief artist statement explaining their work and inspiration
- A copy of their resume
Submission deadline: 1st March 2026, please see more details on the Artist Discovery Program.
Building on Previous Success
The upcoming cohort will join artists previously featured on Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, as well as at Royal Caribbean’s exclusive destination, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island.
While the programs on Icon and Star celebrated the rhythm and vibrancy of the Caribbean region, the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island edition exclusively highlighted Bahamian talent, capturing the distinct energy and spirit of The Bahamas.
Mediterranean Launch, Caribbean Debut
Legend of the Seas will debut in Europe in summer 2026, offering 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. Guests can explore historic landmarks such as Rome’s Colosseum, enjoy the coastal charm of Provence (Marseille), France, and immerse themselves in the cultures of Naples, Italy, and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
In November 2026, Legend will make its Caribbean debut from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, featuring 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean sailings, including stops in Oranjestad, Aruba, and Willemstad, Curaçao. Every Caribbean itinerary will also include a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s top-rated private island destination known for its turquoise waters, beaches, waterpark and resort-style amenities.
With the expanded Artist Discovery Program, Royal Caribbean continues to blend travel, culture and creativity — turning every voyage into a floating canvas that celebrates the destinations it serves.
