(Singapore, 16.06.2025) ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), a leading data centre service provider headquartered in Singapore, has released its 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, showcasing significant progress towards its long-term sustainability goals and reaffirming its commitment to carbon-neutral operations by 2030.

As digital infrastructure continues to expand globally, STT GDC has underscored its role as not only a facilitator of growth but also a leader in responsible innovation. President and Group Chief Executive Officer Bruno Lopez remarked, “As the digital economy accelerates, our responsibility as infrastructure providers extends beyond simply supporting growth; we must lead with purpose and innovation.”
It is reported that STT GDC made remarkable progress on our sustainability journey in 2024, from securing S$500 million in sustainability-linked financing to implementing AI-driven cooling optimisation and pioneering the use of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) in Singapore. These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 while delivering the resilient, efficient infrastructure that powers our digital world.”
The 2024 ESG report highlights several key milestones that position STT GDC at the forefront of sustainable digital infrastructure. The Group achieved 78.5% renewable energy usage across its operations, surpassing internal targets. It also recorded a 22.9% year-on-year reduction in carbon emissions, furthering its trajectory toward net-zero emissions. The Group’s carbon intensity has decreased by 66.2% since 2021, supported by improvements in power and water usage efficiencies.
In terms of sustainable financing, STT GDC made history with the issuance of S$500 million in Sustainability-Linked Perpetual (SLP) securities — the first of its kind in Singapore, in Asia, and in the global data centre industry. The Group also expanded its Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework, setting new targets such as increasing renewable energy usage to 85% and reducing carbon intensity by 70% by 2028.
STT GDC has also demonstrated its leadership through technological innovation. It became the first data centre operator in Singapore to deploy HVO as a sustainable fuel for backup generators, and the first in Asia to pilot an AI-based autonomous control system for cooling optimisation within a technically complex hybrid environment.
In addition to its environmental achievements, STT GDC has continued to build a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. Since 2020, the Group has recorded zero work-related serious injuries or fatalities, with a total recordable incident rate of just 0.1 across over 25 million hours worked. In 2024, STT GDC offices in India, Singapore, and Indonesia received Great Place to Work certifications, reflecting a sustained commitment to workplace excellence. On average, each employee received 23.5 hours of training to support continuous professional development.
STT GDC’s social impact extended beyond the workplace. In Indonesia, the Group’s team partnered with a local conservation organisation to plant 1,000 mangrove trees in West Java, an initiative aimed at supporting biodiversity and mitigating climate change effects along coastal regions.
The company continues to uphold the highest standards of ethics and corporate governance, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption. All employees have undergone anti-corruption training, and the Group reported zero incidents of corruption in 2024.
The ESG report, covering the period from 1 January to 31 December 2024, reflects STT GDC’s commitment to transparent disclosure and accountability as it advances its sustainability agenda. With a sharpened focus on environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical governance, STT GDC is building not only the data centres of tomorrow—but also a more sustainable digital future.
