Parking.sg down might lead users to be issued with parking offence notices

Singapore, 5 Mar 2018 – Parking.sg allows users to pay short-term parking charges through mobile device at all existing coupon-based public car parks. This is a convenient alternative. You will also be able to extend the parking session remotely via the app. Parking.sg app is not necessary for Electronic Parking System (EPS) carparks.

However, the Parking.sg app was down for several hours on Tuesday (Feb 27) for Android users due to a “network issue”. Affected users were not able to pay for parking sessions and they were at risk of being issued of parking offence notices, as transactions weren’t successful.

In an update about three hours later, Parking.sg was still unable to recover to its function therefore, the users’ applications were suspended until about 2.40pm that day.

The system has had several issues since it was launched October 2017, including a bug last December which caused some users’ parking sessions to disappear after they closed the app. This meant some users created new parking sessions and paid for overlapping sessions for the same period of time.
