Rina Ciputra Sastrawinata began her career with Ciputra Group in 1981 as President Director. In the past 38 years, Ciputra Group’s business has grown to include hospitality, property brokerage, shopping centers, media, telecommunications, healthcare, palm oil plantation, the arts and insurance. The company has expanded its footprint to Vietnam, Cambodia and China.

Within the Group Rina also heads the HR Department, understanding the importance of education in creating a culture of excellence. Inspired by her father’s spirit of innovation, professionalism and entrepreneurship, she continues to find ways to motivate people to aim high in their respective responsibilities.

Besides her success in Ciputra, she also brought Century 21 to Indonesia at a time when the property brokerage market was relatively new and undeveloped. Her innovative and ambitious leadership style turned Century 21 into one of the most successful brokerage firms in the country. Century 21 has received numerous prestigious awards, most recently the Franchise Best Seller Awards (2010), Franchise Fastest Growing Awards (2010), Franchise Top of Mind Awards (2011-2013), The Best Property Agent Award (2017) and Indonesia Digital Popular Brand Award (2018).

From a young age, Rina shared her father’s love for the arts and passion to promote the Indonesian creative industry. In 2009 she was appointed to spearhead the Group’s diversification into the arts through the construction of Ciputra Artpreneur Center, a 10,000 sqm complex in Jakarta which includes a museum, multi-purpose gallery and a 1,157-seat international standard theater. As President Director, she brought the first-ever Broadway musical to Indonesia, Beauty and the Beast, followed by several other internationally acclaimed shows including Shrek The Musical, Annie, The Sound of Music, Vienna Boys Choir and Pavarotti Forever: a tribute concert to Pavarotti.

She is also passionate about advocating for Indonesian artists to enrich the country’s art and cultural heritage. Ciputra Artpreneur Center has showcased many local performances such as Teater Koma, Teater Gandrik, The Resonanz Children Choir, 100 years Hendra Gunawan painting exhibition, I La Galigo, and others.

Rina has won several awards, the most prestigious being the “Ordine Della Stella d’Italia Classe Cavaliere” from the Italian government for strengthening Indonesia-Italy relationship in the arts.

She has also served on the Advisory Board of Pinacotheque de Paris. She currently serves as Commissioner of PT Ciputra Development, Director of PT Sagotra Usaha (Century 21) and President Director of Ciputra Artpreneur. Rina holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and an MBA from Claremont Graduate School, Los Angeles, USA.
