(Singapore, 27,09.2025) As the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix prepares to illuminate the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 3–5 October 2025, another race of passion, precision, and purpose is already underway in the heart of the Lion City. The Aramco STEM Racing World Finals 2025 has officially kicked off at Resorts World Sentosa, bringing together 83 elite student teams from 34 countries to compete for the title of World Champions in the largest and most ambitious edition of the global educational initiative to date.
Formerly known as F1 in Schools, STEM Racing is a worldwide education program that challenges students to design, engineer, and race miniature F1-style cars while mastering teamwork, branding, and project management. This year’s Finals gather over 1,000 students, mentors, educators, judges, and partners for a six-day celebration of high-tech engineering, cross-cultural collaboration, and creative enterprise — all held in the same week that Singapore hosts the world’s most iconic night race.

Micro Machines, Mega Ideas
At the heart of the competition are scale-model Formula 1 cars — precision-engineered by the students using the official STEM Racing model block and powered by compressed air. Before racing, each team’s car undergoes scrutineering under strict Parc Fermé conditions, following the same technical inspection procedures used in professional F1.
In total, 166 cars (two per team) have been submitted for inspection, with scrutineers noting remarkable design innovations and aerodynamic refinements unseen in previous Finals.
“We have our biggest-ever field of teams, and even at this early stage it’s clear this will be the most competitive Finals we’ve ever held,” said Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman of STEM Racing. “Some of the designs I’ve seen are truly groundbreaking — I can’t wait to find out just how fast and competitive these cars will be.”
A New Four-Lane Track, A New Era of Racing
This year’s Finals debut a brand-new four-lane official STEM Racing track, adding a thrilling new dimension with four cars racing side by side. Students have warmly embraced the format, relishing the heightened challenge of going wheel-to-wheel with three other competitors in each race.
Beyond racing, teams are constructing pit displays — dynamic, self-designed showcases that tell their story across engineering, branding, enterprise, and innovation. These creative booths transform the venue into a vibrant, interactive pit lane, echoing the high-energy spirit of a professional F1 paddock.
Each team also submits detailed portfolios covering project management, research, and design, and presents verbally before a panel of judges. Cars will sprint down the 20-metre race track in around one second, demonstrating the synergy of science, engineering, and teamwork.
The Finals culminate on 1 October with a glittering awards ceremony, where the Aramco STEM Racing World Champions 2025 will be crowned.
As part of their reward, teams will enjoy a behind-the-scenes pit lane walk and an exclusive race weekend experience at the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025, supported by Formula 1 and Singapore GP — offering a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse into the pinnacle of motorsport.
