At present, Jindong is at a critical stage of industrial iterative upgrading. Anchoring its goal of building a high-level innovative urban district, the area is leveraging the innovation-empowering effect of “three lakes reflecting the city, transformation across the whole region,” breaking away from traditional development paths, actively embracing the new round of technological revolution, and converting the key variable of innovation into the greatest increment for economic growth.

Seizing policy and opening-up opportunities to solidify the foundation for innovative development. Leveraging its location advantages in the Yangtze River Delta, Jindong is actively aligning with the layout of major national infrastructure, integrating itself into the construction of new infrastructure including computing power networks and new-generation communication networks, and continuously striving to secure reform pilot programs. In the first half of this year, the region added seven provincial-level reform pilots. The cross-border e-commerce “9610” dual-header list declaration pilot and the ministry-locality co-built AI industry-talent integration cluster were launched successively, breaking down development barriers through institutional innovation, opening up development channels for sci-tech enterprises and cross-border industries, and translating policy dividends into tangible industrial results.

Building high-energy sci-tech innovation platforms to cultivate new industrial growth poles. The Jinyi Lake Innovation Circle is the core platform for Jindong’s sci-tech innovation development. The main structure of the “AI·Yigu” large-scale incubator cluster, with a total floor area of 720,000 square meters, has been topped out, providing complete incubation space and industrial support for AI startups and research teams. The Jinhua Research Institute of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University was approved as a provincial-level proof-of-concept center and successfully introduced a full-time academician, opening up the transformation chain from laboratory research to market application.

The region’s “3+3” modern industrial system continues to grow, with total industrial output value achieving 86.4% growth and R&D expenditure intensity ranking first in the city. The area continues to strengthen the new energy full industrial chain, advancing chain extension, supplementation, and reinforcement, while opening up collaborative mechanisms for education, research, and talent, empowering industrial upgrading with talent advantages and building a modern industrial cluster with distinctive identity.

Laying out new tracks in the intelligent economy and exploring pathways for cross-sector industrial leaps. Following the global AI development wave, Jindong is focusing on the “AI+” initiative, hosting multiple industry exchange events such as the 2026 AI Industry Integration Development Conference, the Yangtze River Delta G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor Talent Cooperation Exchange Conference, and the Jinyi Lake Forum · 2026 Intelligent Agent OPC Innovation Conference, building platforms for dialogue and cooperation between domestic and international technical talent. With an embodied intelligent robot training ground and 101 AI application scenarios released, the core AI industry revenue has achieved over 30% growth, and AI technology is deeply empowering the local real economy.

Based on its local industrial foundation, Jindong is tapping the technological commonalities between the new energy vehicle and intelligent robot industries in areas such as motors, reducers, batteries, and computing power chips, promoting industrial upgrading from the automobile industry chain to the robot industry chain. At the same time, it is exploring the “one-person army” OPC innovation and entrepreneurship model, relying on large-scale incubator platforms to support super individuals and new entrepreneurial organizations, cultivating diverse innovation entities. The area is also actively connecting with resources from the Shanghai International Sci-Tech Innovation Center, deeply embedding itself in the Yangtze River Delta sci-tech innovation network, and expanding broad space for external technical exchange and project cooperation.

Opportunities, tracks, and new industrial forms constitute the clear logic of Jindong’s innovative development. This sci-tech innovation hotbed located in central Zhejiang upholds open innovation, continuously improves its sci-tech innovation ecosystem, and looks forward to engaging in exchange and collaboration with global sci-tech institutions, enterprises, and talent to jointly explore development opportunities in the integration of AI and advanced manufacturing.
