(Singapore，3 Sep 2026) Giant pandas take centre stage at River Wonders this September, with Jia Jia and Kai Kai celebrating their birthdays and Panda Planet Immersive Experience (“熊猫星球”大熊猫主题互动展) making its first stop outside China. The exhibition is presented by iPanda, a multimedia and live-broadcasting channel dedicated to giant pandas by CCTV.com, as part of a series of themed activities under the China-Singapore Panda Relations (中新熊猫情缘) initiative with Mandai Wildlife Group. With the school holidays around the corner, families and panda fans of all ages have even more reasons to visit River Wonders.
Jia Jia turns 18 today, and Kai Kai turns 19 on 14 September. Guests can join their birthday celebrations in person on 5 and 13 September respectively at Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest. Come watch them dig into specially made gift boxes filled with their favourite treats. Lovingly prepared by their care team, the enrichment is designed to encourage their natural foraging behaviours while keeping them mentally and physically engaged.
Meanwhile, Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest will also host the Panda Planet Immersive Experience from 4 to 14 September, offering visitors a closer look into the world of giant pandas through three themed zones.
At the Giant Panda Science Zone, guests can learn about the evolution, behaviours and unique adaptations of giant pandas, as well as the conservation efforts supporting the recovery of this vulnerable species. Next, the Kai Kai & Jia Jia Birthday Zone features fun facts about the pair, with a special update on Le Le, Singapore’s first and only local-born giant panda cub. Le Le returned to China in January 2024 to join a giant panda conservation programme by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP). The Panda Planet Immersive Experience: MR Experience Zone gives visitors a glimpse into the giant panda’s natural ecosystem through an interactive virtual experience.
Across the three zones, guests can also test their panda knowledge through science trivia challenges and snap photos at adorable panda-themed photo points for a chance to redeem exclusive merchandise from iPanda.
Guests can enjoy the exhibition as part of their River Wonders visit. Park admission tickets are available through the Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s official ticketing website or at the park.
